A. DRESS CODE
Proper workout attire is to be worn at all times when using Club equipment, activities or facilities. No jeans, work or ragged or loose clothing are permitted. Proper athletic footwear (sneakers) must be worn. Appropriate attire, tops and bottoms, must be worn at all times in all workout and lounge areas. No open-toed shoes or dress shoes will be permitted in the any portion of the club except the Cafe.
B. GENERAL CLUB INFORMATION
- Changes in the Rule and Regulations, as well as communications with Members, will largely be by email, so Members should regularly check their emails for notifications and club news.
- Members must electronically check in with the SoWa Health + Wellness App upon every visit to the Club.
- No one other than Club employees is permitted in the Club before or after the scheduled hours of operation, which may be revised at any time by Club
- Smoking or vaping are not permitted anywhere in the Club.
- Food shall not be consumed anywhere in the Club except in the Cafe.
- Beverages must be carried in covered plastic containers only. No glass containers are permitted.
- No alcoholic beverages may be consumed in the Club except in the Cafe and the Golf Simulator Area.
- Alcoholic beverages must be purchased from SoWa Health + Wellness/Boulangerie. Any outside alcohol is not permitted.
- Pets (except service animals) are not permitted in the Club at any time
- Cell phone use is permitted only in the following Club areas: Café and Lounge
- Horseplay, ball playing, running or objectionable behavior, loud boisterous, obscene or offensive language, or open speaker radios or cellphones in the Club are not permitted. The Club reserves the right to ask any members or guests to leave the Club if their actions are deemed unsafe or in violation of Club policy
C. FREE WEIGHTS AND EXERCISE MACHINE
- Disinfectant wipes are available in several locations in the Club. Each member must wipe all equipment clean after each use as a courtesy to others.
- Members must be courteous to other members and staff alike. Respect and courtesy go a long way.
- All work out bags, coats and other personal belongings must be stored in a locker during any member’s or guest’s workout.
- Free weights are only permitted in the designated free weight area. Free weights and plates, upon completion of use must be returned to their proper racks.
- Don’t throw or drop equipment. Don’t hoard equipment. Equipment and machines must be used as intended by the manufacturer. Failure to do so may result in suspension of membership benefits.
- The use of gloves is recommended in the free weight area.
- When using strength training equipment, please allow others to “work in” to your routine when doing multiple sets.
- We are not responsible for personal exercise equipment or personal property (e.g. weight belts, gloves, cell phones, keys, etc) left in the Club.
- At no time shall any equipment be removed from the Club.
- During the hours of 7 am to 9 am and 4 pm to 7 pm, Monday through Friday and 8 am to noon Saturday and Sunday, please limit the use of cardiovascular equipment (treadmills, ellipticals, steppers & bikes) to 40 minutes, as well as during busy hours and/or if there are other members waiting for the equipment.
- Club equipment should be used only in the manner specified by the directions or as indicated on the equipment. Please ask a Club employee for assistance if you have any questions about proper use of equipment.
- Members shall not move or modify equipment in any way. Do not try to operate any malfunctioning or broken equipment. If you believe any piece of Club facilities, equipment or machinery are not operating properly or broken, you must immediately stopping such facilities, equipment or machinery and must promptly notify Club staff.
D. CONTRAST THERAPY
- Members and their guests may only use the Contrast Therapy (infrared sauna and cold plunge) and only if determined by a physician to be sufficiently healthy to do so. Prior to using contrast therapy each member or guest must provide the Club with a letter signed by that member’s or guest’s physician attesting to the fact that the member or guest is sufficiently healthy to use the Contrast Therapy.
- It shall be a condition of use by of the Contrast Therapy by any member or guest that each member or guest executes documents in the form prescribed by the Club and/or any manufacturer or supplier of any Contrast Therapy machinery or equipment.
E. GOLF SIMULATOR AREA
- Members and their guests must hit from the mat only, must not swing golf clubs while standing off of the mat and must aim toward the golf simulator screen.
- Only the person who is up and getting ready to hit the ball may stand on the mat. All other players, spectators, and other individuals must remain behind the designated mat boundary.
- Rowdiness and horseplay are not allowed and may give rise to removal from the Club.
- Although alcoholic beverages may be consumed in the golf simulator area, no alcoholic beverages shall ever be consumed on the mat.
F. CLASSES
- Classes are included in the All Access membership fees and on a single class for a fee basis to persons holding Gym Memberships, and are available for your enjoyment and well being. Prior to taking a class, a “Class Waiver” must be filled out for our records.
- Please be sure to sign the Class Attendance Sheet. This assures a proper count allowing Club management to change schedules accordingly.
- The warm-up is important! Please be on time. If you are late, do not position yourself in front of anyone. Be courteous and stand in the back
- There is “NO ENTRY” into any class after the 5 minute warm-u
- Do not interrupt a Class or Instructor while it is in session. If you require a mat, weight or any other accessory please get one from another area in the Gym or ask for help at the Front Desk.
- If you have a complaint or need assistance, please go to the Front Desk.
G. SAUNA
- Members and guests must consult their physician before using the Sauna. It should not be used by anyone with high blood pressure or a background of circulatory illness.
- Do not put wet towels, articles of clothing or newspapers/magazines on heating elements in the Sauna or leave clothing or towels in the Sauna to dry. Any items found in the Sauna will be removed and discarded.
- Do not pour water onto heating rocks, as this could cause a serious electrical accident and will shorten the life of the heating elements.
- The Sauna produces a dry heat and generally reaches temperatures of 180 degrees. Sauna-induced perspiration creates a skin cleansing effect from skin pores opening. It is not advisable to remain in the Sauna room for more than five minutes at any one time.
- Do not go directly into the Sauna following a strenuous exercise period, especially jogging. Rest and cool down. Allow your pulse to return as closely as possible to your resting heartbeat.
H. INJURIES
- Members and guests must immediately report to Club employees any accident or injury occurring at the Club or as a result of use of the Club’s facilities, machinery or equipment, and if requested to do so, shall complete a written report of the accident or injury
- All persons using the club authorize emergency medical care and assume all related costs in connection with such emergency medical care.
I. PROPERTY DAMAGE
- Persons using Club facilities, machinery or equipment agree to pay for damage caused by them to such facilities, machinery or equipment or any third party property.
J. SUSPENSIONS AND/OR TERMINATION
- Access and use of the Club may be suspended or terminated at any time for violations of the Club’s Rules and Regulations by anyone and the Club reserves the right to revoke a membership without refund if any Club policies are disregarded.
K. AMENDMENTS
- The Club reserves the right to alter or amend these Rules and Regulations at any time without prior notice. Amendments to the Rules and Regulations will be posted on the Club website and emailed to all Club members in advance of their effective date.
